It was long rumored that Rockstar will include in its new game Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) a first-person mode, something that the game developer never attempted before. Now the company confirmed the speculations and shows off the new perspective added to the game for its PC version and next-generation consoles.
Until now GTA series were restricted only to a third-person view. In the first two games it was a bird-eye view on top of the character and after that it was fixed behind its shoulders. Now adding a first-person prospective will change a lot the gameplay in comparison to the current GTA 5 version for X-Box 360 and PlayStation 3. You can aim down the sight for more precise shooting and gives a totally different experience when driving vehicles.
The reason for that this mode was not included until now was simple – the technical limitations of the previous-gen consoles make it impossible. Now with a far more faster hardware and a PC version you can explore and making havoc in the open world from first-person perspective and it looks very wild.
Rockstar reveals other things which will be added to the next version of GTA 5. New events and rewards which will happened in the open world and they will provide new challenges and unlocks. Two new weapons will be included – the rail gun and the hatchet. Also in the game will be incorporated new mini-games.
Murder Mystery will be a old-school style crime game like LA Noire and the goal will be to solve a murder. There will be a series of stock car racings and a Wild photography challenge which require the players to take a pictures of new animal species in Los Santos and Blaine County.
GTA 5 will be available for PlayStation 4 and XBox One in 18th of November and PC gamers will wait up to January 2015.
