As the Holiday season approaches the more rumors we have for the flagship smartphones and the new HTC One M9 is not an exception. Actually the speculations for the new device from the Taiwanese manufacturer are not for its design, or tech specs, but are more focused on its actual name. There were information that the next generation smartphone from HTC will break the tradition and will not be named as One M9 as its predecessors One M7 and One M8.
According to a leaks the Taiwanese company is preparing two new models which will be the successors of One M8 and M8 Prime. But HTC will dump the indexing name M* if the speculations are right. There are no information about the new name, but there are already some signs that the company will change its naming policy. Its latest device – HTC Desire EYE drops out the numbering pattern and we may see it in the future smartphones. If HTC make this step it will be returning to the days when its phones didn’t have numbers in their names.
Except the fresh rumors about a possible change in the name there aren’t too much info about the specs or the overall design of the next HTC’s flagship. There are some concepts and the speculations are for all metal case and possible stylish red version. Under the hood the HTC One M9 rumors are about a quad-core 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3 GB of RAM, which compares favorably to the One M8’s Snapdragon 801 and 2GB of memory. The speculations are also suggests the device should pack a slightly larger display at 5.2 inches with 1,440 x 2,560 pixel resolution and 13-megapixel main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
Also it might get the latest version of the operating system Android L. But none of those specs or rumors are coming from reliable sources so it is more plausible that these are some wild suggestions and not an actual leaks with big chance of probability.
