Xiaomi Mi Note takes on iPhone 6

Xiaomi Mi NoteXiaomi shows of its new flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi Note (or Redmi Note) which is aiming directly into the high-end class and more specifically at iPhone 6. Last year the only five year old startup became big and gain a third place in the global smartphone market after astonishing sales in Chine. Now the Chinese company is getting more seriously with Apple and released a new flagship Xiaomi Mi Note.

Xiaomi Mi Note tech specs

The rumors was that Xiaomi will release Mi2, but instead it goes in the premium segment with a phablet named Mi Note. The 5.7-inches handset packs a very powerful tech specs. It is only 6.9mm thick or a little bit thinner than the iPhone 6 Plus which is 7.1mm. Both weights 161 grams.

Xiaomi Mi Note has 13MP camera in the back against 8MP of the iPhone 6. The Chinese vendor’s camera has optical stability and good low-light capabilities.  The 5.7-inches display has a slight curve which makes the device more sleek. It has a 1080 x 1920 resolution similar to that of the iPhone 6 Plus. It is good to mention that the smaller display of the iPhone improves the pixels density, but with not so big difference.

The Chinese company also showed a version with improved screen Xiaomi Mi Note Pro with 2560 x 1440 which is poised to take on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The new device also packs 3GB of RAM against only 1GB for the iPhone 6.

Price and busted rumors

Xiaomi Mi Note has a very big advantage – the price. It is going on sale for only for $399 and Mi Note Pro for $599. The iPhone 6 Plus has a double price tag against the Xiaomi Mi Note if you buy it without contract and mobile operator’s subsidy.

With this news Xiaomi made not only a big step to try to take on Apple, not only in China but also worldwide. The five year old company also busted few rumors about its new flagship. There were speculations about Xiaomi Mi5 that it will have a sapphire screen. The Chinese vendor didn’t reveal such a feature but still we may expect this kind of move later this year.
